Why are you here?

You're on this site because you expressed an interest in buying the full and exclusive copyright to "Sea of Trees" book, along with sole authorship. 

I've weighed my artistic and creative want to remain connected to this great work we've made against Chad's desire to have the book free and clear. After great consideration, I'd like to give Chad the opportunity to buy the copyright and sole title for a higher price than offered and would accept in an instant should you agree.

This is because it is an offer that—though is lower than industry standards, given the special circumstances of our arrangement—I consider it fair and equitable.

Why not just message through the Fiverr platform?

Fiverr does not allow or honor any outside contracts whatsoever. Normally, I follow this rule to the letter but in this unique case, in order to sell the copyright (aka, "assign" the copyright to Chad) we have no choice but to do so with a legal contract.

Selling copyright here:

•  Shows a clear intent to permanently release copyright to the sole ownership of Chad.
• Protects Chad's investment so that there can be no basis to any future claim of copyright. Apparently, there is a clause where after 35 years, reclaim (or attempt to reclaim) of copyright can occur. This page and the contract CLEARLY indicates the intention that once purchased, Chad should permanently retain the copyright in perpetuity.
• Creates and maintains legally binding contract for all parties, entered into with full intent to honor said contract.

Please note: Often, writing done as a service is considered "work for hire." However, this does not apply with my book writing because I always retain the copyright on my book writing services and I give notice upfront on the gig. Therefore the "work for hire" rule does not affect copyright ownership in this case. So the only way to legally, officially, and permanently transfer copyright is to work through a contract.

What you get

Here's what you get if you accept the offer: 

1. The Assignment of the Copyright, which is the contract that gives Chad full copyright.
   This contract is mostly filled out and ready for you to finish and be on your way to owning your copyright.
2. The official application for copyright registration for Chad's use. This is also partially filled out.
3. You also get step-by-step instruction on exactly how to finish filling out your end of the contracts and what to do next. 

Click the link to get your copyright, title and book free and clear. When you do, fill out the "Account Information" form. If you already have a Kajabi Account, give your information, otherwise create your account by entering your name, email and creating your password. (Don't worry, there are NO continuing charges nor are there any membership duties or surprises. I just happen to use Kajabi website to do business from.)

Then give your payment info and you will receive your login information and instructions to complete the transfer of copyright.
