Terms and Conditions of this offer: The Carrie Glenn Writers Workshop is an ongoing membership created to support your efforts to get your book finished and published.
While we do not censor writers and welcome most storylines, we do understand that mutual respect is a must for an effective and well-functioning Authors Club. To that end, writers with the following storylines are not invited to join:
- Derogatory personal, political, or religious content. This doesn't mean members are forbidden to omit criticism in these areas. It does mean that members must not cross the line between criticizing and defamation. If you are uncertain, do check with me before joining.
- Scam-style business books meant to falsely fish clients in. Optin books, ebooks, and other business books are more than welcome! It's also important that these stories be built on honesty and transparency about the member's company while avoiding bait-and-switch, false advertising, or any content meant to deceive book buyers for the company's profits.
- Pornographic content beyond the realm of an erotica novel. Examples of accepted storylines include Harlequin romance novels and even spicier books like "50 Shades of Grey." This really does leave members a lot of room here, lol. Just don't push these boundaries.
- Any content that recklessly objectifies the sexual, emotional, or physical safety of others, especially minors. Some writers will write about horrible acts done to them or those they know about. This is accepted. Some writers may also write about acts done to them that they enjoyed or acts that they did. This is accepted. What is not accepted is when writers write this content in a way that glorifies any crimes or those who commit them. Those writers are absolutely NOT WELCOME to join or remain in this club.
- Plagiarism of any type and to any extent is unacceptable. Any writer who plagiarizes from any authors or writers whatsoever (published or unpublished) is not invited to join or remain in Carrie Glenn's Authors Club.
Invitation to join: joining members agree to defer to Carrie Glenn's definitions of the above storylines that are not accepted. If you are uncertain if your storyline is acceptable for an invitation to join, email Carrie at [email protected].
Good standing: All members are in good standing as long as:
- their storyline does not violate the "invitation to join" terms and conditions, and
- their payments are current, and
- they have not violated any nondisclosure terms and conditions (see below), and
- they have not violated any Club Etiquette terms and conditions (see below).
See below for nondisclosure and club etiquette terms and conditions.
Nondisclosure: What happens in Club, stays in Club! This means that all members agree that all written work is considered highly classified material. Members agree they will not discuss other members' work with anyone else. Members agree not to use IN ANY WAY the work of others in this membership. Trust is vehemently protected. Any violation of this term/condition will result in IMMEDIATE REMOVAL of the offending member, without any refund, and it will NULLIFY any refund guarantee.
