$3500 NON-Refundable Deposit and 1st part of downpayment

Project Terms of Agreement 
This NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT guarantees your spot on my calendar so that we can work out the details to begin our ghostwriting project. Under no circumstances do I ever return the NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT  because, once paid, I do begin clearing my schedule, resulting in the loss of client acquisition.  This NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT will be subtracted from your 1st downpayment toward our project and is valid for twelve months after it has been paid. Should our project get delayed beyond that time, the deposit is forfeited. However, at my discretion and as time allows, should you wish to continue our project after 12 months have passed, I may try to work our project back into my schedule. This is with the understanding that if my rates have changed considerably, we may need to renegotiate the project price. If we cannot agree on updated pricing, the project will officially terminate and the deposit is thereby forfeited.

Upon payment, we will book an appointment to work out the details of our ghostwriting and payment schedule so that we can get started.

 Ghostwriting details:

I will write your book as described in our agreement. I will "deliver" per the agreed-upon schedule. Please be sure to read the calendar schedule, and be prepared to quickly make any changes once you receive notes. Also, please let me know of any conflicts you may have with the schedule. Ultimately, I'm here to serve you, so if we need to adjust let me know ASAP. That said, the faster you get draft notes back to me, the more assured we are of hitting your publish goal! This is so exciting, and I can't wait to get started!

Your Ghostwriting Package INCLUDES:

  • Your Ghostwriting package INCLUDES the following STEPS:

    1/2 total project price USD (minus this $3500 deposit) is due upon starting (start all phase 1 work) NOTE: All financial amounts are in USD.

    PHASE 1. Book purpose and goal alignment, begin revising, organizing, and cutting the manuscript and/or all created notes. Begin creating the voice.
     

    We'll have a call or Zoom to go over the "Required Questions" in the New Client Discovery document. This goes over your book's purpose, understanding your audience, and your goals:

    1. Here I scour through all existing content and give it a good read-through. This gives me the information I need to begin revising, rewriting, and continuing to write. 
    2. If needed, I will format the manuscript for industry standards formatting, which is 8.5 by 11" page; double-spaced; black, Times New Roman, 12-point font; 1" margins on all sides; 0.5" indentions; left alignment; 3-asterisk scene breaks; 1-space sentence separation; page breaks; title page; front matter including copyright page and table of contents; Roman numeral page numbers for front matter and regular page numbers for the body of the book starting at Chapter 1; chapter titles CAPITAL and spaced 1/3 of the way down the page; chapter body 4-6 lines below titles; centered "END" after last line.
    3. Reorganize the content. This puts the book into an organization that is compelling to read and keeps readers turning the page.
    4. Rough edit. Cut out anything that distracts from the message.
    5. Offer suggestions for improvement throughout the manuscript.
    6. Begin creating an easy-to-read voice to the manuscript content while still keeping your expertise. This includes clarifying any content that needs it, rewording, and rewriting as needed to begin that full overhaul.
    7. Begin the process of finding the places for the stories (this will be as flexible as needed so that as the work continues, ideas for stories can continue to emerge or not).
  • We will book additional calls as needed.

    PHASE 2 Chapter Edits!

    We will follow the payment and work schedule as described in our agreement.

    Edit and final proofreading; full book edit and proofing (again, this schedule can be altered as needed)

    I'll do a final edit of the manuscript with your requested changes, do a final proofreading of the finalized manuscript, and redeliver.

  • Optional

    NOTE: It is highly recommended to also do a few rounds of editing with other editors after this. Many books also go through beta readings and more. Yes, I will do a publish-worthy, really good job with your book and some authors publish immediately. So, additional rounds are not required. However, I do find that the notes, suggestions, and edits are helpful. If you do this, I am more than happy to schedule one last proofing (not a full edit)!

     

Your Ghostwriting Package DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • Rewrite or revise beyond the initial agreed-upon words without entering into the next Package Tier and its compensation. 
  • More than 3 revisions of writing. Most authors don't need more than 1 revision, and few need all 3. If you need more than 3, additional revisions must be purchased at my hourly rate of $300 per hour.
  • Any writing, rewriting, or editing of AI content whatsoever. AI content CANNOT be copywritten, therefore authors must not give me AI-generated material of any kind, and I do NOT use AI-generated content. NOTE: AI content detectors are unreliable, with common reports of false positive results. Therefore any report results will not be honored. 
  • Formatting into "book" publishing specifications. I do industry-standard "manuscript" formatting, which is 8.5 by 11" page; double-spaced; black, Times New Roman, 12-point font; 1" margins on all sides; 0.5" indentions; left alignment; 3-asterisk scene breaks; 1-space sentence separation; page breaks; title page; front matter including copyright page and table of contents; Roman numeral page numbers for front matter and regular page numbers for the body of the book starting at Chapter 1; chapter titles CAPITAL and spaced 1/3 of the way down the page; chapter body 4-6 lines below titles; centered "END" after last line.
  • Marketing. 
  • Additional writings of blurbs, author's bio, query letters, proposals, etc. Only the Book is being written in this offer.
  • Unlimited access. All meetings will be scheduled and should be kept. During the first month, there will be made available up to 4 meetings for 30 minutes. Then, there are 2 meetings per chapter, 1 for the initial interview and 1 for feedback. Again, all meetings are 30-40 minutes. Please reschedule 24 hours prior to any meeting and stay on target to avoid delays. I will respond to all communication within 24 BUSINESS hours, meaning Pacific Time Monday-Friday. For your convenience, please note that I am generally out of the office from Friday afternoons until Tuesday mornings at around 10 am PT. 

 

My fee guarantee: 
My fees come with a guarantee that I ghostwrite your book as described. I will complete this work on time and with all due diligence. My on-time completion of any revisions shall be subject to the "deadline" section below. If you are purchasing additional marketing content: up to two rounds of revisions (also per the "deadline" section below).

Payment Terms for projects under $10,000:
For most projects under $10,000, this is your invoice representing full payment for the total project fee upfront. We will get started upon receipt of payment. 

Deadline:
Schedule as stated on our calendar or above in the "Steps" section. The schedule includes designated response times for your review of the book. For the book, response times are 5 business days unless, on an individual basis, we reflect otherwise in the calendar we set up. For any marketing copywriting, the response time is 5 business days. Content for which no response is provided within 5 days shall be deemed accepted and approved as the final draft. Please be sure to read the calendar and let me know immediately if there are any conflicts. Also, be sure to keep me updated as we move along in case of any delays on your end. Because I work with several projects at a time and must comply with all deadlines, our calendar has been planned carefully. Any and all delays in your response deadlines can (and usually will) push back your book finish date goal because I can't crunch my writing/editing time to make up for it. So do please check the calendar upon receipt!

Caveats:
This project is a “work-made-for-hire” project, and you shall own all work and copyrights to use at your sole discretion. You will have complete copyright and sole authorship of your book. Carrie Glenn may use copywritten, finished material in any marketing efforts, such as being part of a portfolio.

I deliver after my agreed-upon fees have been paid.

Although I make every effort to ensure that your content complies with the law, I am not an attorney. Therefore, you accept full responsibility for the content validity (you may submit the copy for legal review as you see fit). You are responsible for the final proofreading of all content to this end.

You agree that you shall defend, indemnify, and hold Carrie Glenn, me, harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, and expenses arising from or relating to the offer of goods, information, and/or services online or offline, or based on a claim that the content/ copywriting violates the laws, codes, regulations, or statutes of any jurisdiction.

Membership to this exclusive "New Kajabi" site does not require any further purchases or actions on your part. It is simply the platform I use to sell my products and services. Courses and other membership opportunities may be extended to you from time to time.

Results:
There are many factors in your messaging effort — competition, product, market, price, list, demand, customer preferences, and major events — that I cannot control. Therefore, while I can and do GUARANTEE your complete satisfaction with my writing, editing, marketing ideas, ethics, and copywriting, I cannot guarantee specific results.

With your permission, we may use your contact information to send you information about (including but not limited to) our company, events, products and services, as well as information about affiliate, partner or other parties and their events, products and services via email, postal mail, phone, text, or other communications.
